I was one of the inaugural graduate representatives and currently serve as the project assistant for Water@UW-Madison, an umbrella organization which connects water scholars at UW-Madison and conveys the scope and diversity of their work both on and off campus. In addition to event, website, and logistical support, I enjoy freedom to design and implement new ways for Water@UW-Madison to achieve its mission.
The Water@UW-Madison Story Map is one way we're showcasing UW-Madison water research. I've revamped the design and we're continually gathering projects to add to the growing map.
I love books on personal effectiveness. These four have helped me learn to stay focused, create helpful routines, persevere through hard tasks, and appreciate the importance of failing fast.
I strongly believe that communication - to both scientists and non-scientists - is just as important as the research itself.
And sometimes, you just want to escape to a fantasy world...I love that both Diana Gabaldon and Susan Dennard received advance degrees in science before becoming published writers. Their research skills show in their world-building!
WI Water Resources Policy Fellow
The Wisconsin Groundwater Coordinating Council consists of representatives from all state agencies with some responsibility for managing groundwater, and is required to deliver a report to the legislature each year on the "state of the resource." From Summer 2015-Summer 2016, I updated the landing dashboard that provides an "at-a-glance" summary of the resource and heavily revised other sections of the report to be more cohesive and reader-friendly.
I also led updates to Groundwater: Wisconsin's Buried Treasure, an educational magazine widely distributed to teachers and outdoor educators throughout the state.
I reflected on the experience as a panelist on a Wisconsin Sea Grant Webinar in May 2017

As a member and secretary of the Madison Flute Club, I enjoy performing regularly around town with both the larger Flute Choir and smaller Chamber Ensemble.
We recently performed at the 2017 National Flute Association Convention in Minneapolis, MN.
